Job Summary:
As Director of Technical Publications, you’ll be the operational architect for JETPUBS’ manuals division—owning P&L, building scalable workflows, and leading a high-performing team to deliver mission-critical documentation at scale. This fully remote role requires periodic travel to client sites and HQ to align on strategy and drive continuous improvement.

- A natural systems builder with 10+ years in building service based delivery organizations or a related regulated-industry environment
- Business-minded and data-driven—comfortable owning divisional P&L, forecasting revenue/margin, and modeling capacity
- A Friendly Architect (logical, measured, stabilizing) who thrives on turning ambiguity into structure
- A collaborative leader who mentors managers, fosters accountability, and drives cross-functional alignment
- Client-centric: you love partnering with sales and service teams to ensure flawless delivery and high satisfaction
Core Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Architect and refine scalable workflows, production processes, and capacity-planning systems
- Financial Management: Own divisional P&L—forecast revenue, margin, utilization, and recommend profitability levers
- Team Development: Build clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability scorecards and frameworks; coach and grow your team
- Process Architecture: Develop reporting tools and data visibility dashboards to inform decisions and eliminate bottlenecks
- Client Engagement: Act as executive sponsor for key accounts—scope projects, set expectations, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
- Cross-Company Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Training Materials, Admin Services, and Finance on company-wide operational initiatives
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Aviation Management, or related field
- 8–10 years in business/service operations, preferably within aviation or another regulated industry
- Proven P&L ownership and financial acumen
- Strong track record of designing and implementing process improvements at scale
- Exceptional project-management, organizational, and analytical skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication; client-first mindset
A Day in the Life
- Morning: Review divisional performance dashboard and lead a strategy sync with operations managers
- Midday: Host a cross-functional workshop to redesign the capacity-planning process
- Afternoon: Meet with the CEO to review P&L variances and approve budget adjustments
- Late Afternoon: Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions with direct reports and finalize a major client kickoff plan
- Evening: Participate in an industry webinar or travel briefing for an upcoming client visit
